The Great Taznakht is made up of several communes from Sirwa through Znagua, Khouzama, Ouisselsat, and Taznakhte.

Taznakht is an urban center that was part of the confederation of Ait-Ouaouzguite and is currently a large center of Berber carpet weaving. On the heights of the city, one would find caves whose occupation would go back to – 7000 BC.
